Emma never truly loved Ken. Sure, she cared about him, and thought he was a good person, but she never really wanted to marry him. Emma knew Ken loved her with his whole heart. That alone caused her so much pain while she was dating him, knowing her love for Ken was simply unrequited.

She would have married Ken and been a good wife. One that was loving, loyal, and there for him when he needed her to be, even if they still lived on opposite ends of town. When Ken cheated on her, she didn’t understand why it hurt her so bad, but it did. Maybe it was because she knew she could never be capable of that kind of betrayal. Maybe it was because since marrying him, she felt like was giving up little pieces of herself to be with him, and felt he should do the same. Emma was never one to tolerate cheaters, so when she found out about his infidelity, she divorced him after the short marriage, even though he continually begged for her forgiveness.

Will loved Terri, despite that fact that she’d changed a lot since high school. She was his high school sweetheart and Will made a vow to love her forever. But when Terri faked a pregnancy, no matter how hard he tried, that was something Will could never forgive. So he divorced her, even though it was the hardest thing he’d ever done.

Neither Will nor Emma would ever forget the night when he ran into her the day he left Terri.

It was raining and Will had nowhere else to go, so he decided Emma’s house could be his port in the storm. Emma was sitting in her living room crying because she felt like her life was crumbling before her eyes. When she heard a knock at the door, she jumped up in surprise. She wasn’t expecting anyone. She had no idea who was on the other side. So when she saw Will staring back at her after she opened the door, her shock escalated, as did her embarrassment. Emma knew that her eyes were undoubtedly red rimmed and puffy from all the crying she’d been doing, and there’s no way Will didn’t notice it. When he saw the sadness in her eyes, his heart sank and he immediately regretted coming over, just to seek his own selfish comfort.

“I'm sorry if this was a bad time, Emma,” Will said apologetically. “It’s just…I have no one else to talk to, but if you wanted me to leave, I understand. I’ll leave.”

Emma grabbed his arm gently as he went to turn around and offered him the weakest of smiles. "No, Will, I'm fine. Just a rough day; come on in,” she said.

Will took a seat on Emma's couch and poured his heart out to her. He didn’t mean to spring all this on her when he arrived, but seeing her melted his resolve. The words came out before he could stop them.

“Terri lied about being pregnant,” disclosed. “I left. I couldn’t look at her. That kind of betrayal…” he sighed. “Emma, I’m divorcing her.”

Emma said nothing; she only sat there and listened to what he had to say with wide eyes. Even if she wanted to speak, she didn’t think she’d be able to.

“So, look,” he said nervously. “I guess the real reason I came here is to tell you that…Emma, I’ve been crazy about you since the day we met. But there was never anything I could do because of Terri,” Will confessed, his heart pounding away in his ribcage.

He didn’t give Emma any time to respond before he leaned in an cupped her cheeks in his palms, kissing her with all he had, his way of showing her just how serious he was. So when Emma pulled away almost immediately, his heart sank.

Tears streamed down Emma’s face and she shook her head in panic. “Will, why didn’t you say this before?” she nearly yelled. “I can't do this now; you're too late." Emma cried.

“Too late?” Will asked, just as frantic. “What do you mean?”

“I married Ken yesterday. I'm sorry." Emma said, her face buried in her hands.

Will slumped over dejectedly on the couch. “I just—I had to tell you. And I’m sorry. This…is not the best timing. I know that. But I just need to you know that I care about you. And I always will,” he professed.

Emma, at a complete loss for words simply stared at the carpet below her, as if she was watching her life fall apart right in front of her. Will left then, too, walking out the door without another word.

A year and a half had passed since then, and both found themselves just as single, just as miserable. But worst of all, their friendship had never recovered after that day. Things were never the same. Forced smiles and awkward conversations became the new norm. And they both hated that that’s what they had become.

Will channeled all of his time and energy into Glee; and Emma spent her days buried under piles of paperwork as a way to distract herself from the constant heartache. She dealt with that in a different way: by spending most nights crying herself to sleep.

Whenever they passed each other in school, the overwhelming feeling to tell the other how they felt consumed both of them. To confess how much they missed each other, needed each other. Even if that meant all they could ever be was friends.

Will had no choice but to suck it up and learn to deal. If they were both going to be miserable, at least they could be miserable together

7 things meme from mel!

1.) 10 year anniversaries- lol well my two best friends and i, have been best friends for 10 years come this september. so we are going to celebrate. we are together all the time, so its like i am basically married to my best friends.
Meliss= my buddy, who understands my obsessions, and we can always be mad at jess togeher lol, b/c she is a pain in the ass.
Jess= Pain in the ass, but she is still my lover, and i am glad i got to spend grade school, and high school with her, even though she is leaving me and meliss next year i still love the bitch, even if she is a liar about her love of ikea.

2.) breakfast for dinner- i love breakfast for dinner! we always do it last minute, and make jess, and melssa's mom drive us to shope rite, and we always get to much, and make to much, and we never finish it. we make chocolate chip pancakes, with barely anu pancake, french toast (which i am basically a beast at making!), bacon (we can eat that up, usually), and eggs! most of this is runny, or burnt, but i still love it.

3.) fanfics- lol i love writing closer fanfics, i am now addicted. i am very greatful that meliss helps me make it better. meliss do you thing i should start a conan/martha oneshot? lol.

4.) no haters- Ah the harers! The L's, and the B's they are such bitches. They make us miserable, and are annoying as hell. Thank the lord i will never have to see them again. Like the saying goes "I am hated on by dumb, ugly, ho's."!

5.) shhs- My love St. Hubert High School, i love this fucking place, and i have no idea why. I am very sad that i just graduated, "The class of the gret '08!" Meliss is jealous becasue no one misses her class, and they all miss us. lol. I can't wait to go back, and visit in november, even though they will probably kick me out for trespssing, sr. mary smith could probably take me down!. Oh and Laura... you speech sucked, at graduation! lol. I could have done a better job, and i hate public speaking. "Once a Bambie, Always a Bambie."

6.) the shore/boardwalk- I love going to the shore/boardwalk every year with jess, and meliss. even though we hate the beach, and were on there for a whole five minutes. we still manage to have fun, and hanging with mrs. flood is always a good time too.

7,) the office- My comic love! I love this show, so much! Steve Carell is my geek crush! Dwangela forever! Angela is the best! The Ofiice convention was one of the best weekends of my life! Hopefully they will have it again, so we can go back, and get the highest level passes!

One shot songfic inspired by the Jimmy Wayne Song “She Never Cried In Front Of Me”

Summary: Pope’s POV at Brenda and Fritz’s Wedding.

Pope was dreading this day. Of course he was happy for her, but he couldn’t help but think about the one that got away. That one was Brenda. And today, she was marrying Fritz, the love of her life.

He had been debating on whether or not to attend the wedding for a while. But for some reason, when he woke up this morning, he found himself putting on his best suit in preparation for their big day. Theirs. Not his.

Despite the fact that he had decided to attend, he still didn’t know if he could handle the idea of Brenda marrying Fritz. He still loved her, and there was nothing he could do to dismiss those feelings. He had dumped her when his wife found out about the affair, but even still, he knew he should have fought for her harder. Maybe if he had, it would be his own wedding he was attending today.

As he walked into the church, he was greeted by Flynn and Provenza.

“Hey Chief. We’ve got a seat for you right here”, Provenza said with a smile.

“Chief, she looks gorgeous. We caught a glimpse of her when we came in. You know I always had a thing for her looks.” Flynn winked at him.

“Sit down Flynn!”, Provenza reprimanded.

“Thank you, gentlemen”, Pope stammered.

With that statement from Flynn, his heart sank, and he just slumped into a pew with the rest of the squad.

When he heard the music start to play and everyone stood up, he didn’t know if he could really do this, but he stayed anyway.

The church doors opened and saw Brenda standing there beside her father. His heart continued to feel the pain, but he tried to remain optimistic. He knew that once this was all over he could try to stop obsessing, or trying to win her back. Because he knew that he could never have her again.

As she walked down the aisle, she smiled at her friends and family, and winked at the squad happily. He couldn’t even bear to look her in the eye. He was just too hurt.

When she finally reached the altar and her father lifted her veil, he whispered something in her ear, and she started to cry. He knew that she was crying out of happiness, that this was the best day of her life. He also knew that he had never made her cry tears of joy. Any time she shed tears around him was because he hurt her.

It's 7:35, She's someone else's wife

And I can get on with my life. And that thrills me

She married him today, Her daddy gave the bride away

I heard a tear rolled down her face

And that kills me, 'cuz now I, can see why

She's finally crying.

Pope didn’t pay much attention during the wedding, but rather, spent time reflecting on all that had happened, and why he didn’t go after her when she left.

Brenda always argued that she couldn’t take the all sneaking around. One day she snapped and told him she was leaving him if he didn’t make the choice. Her or his wife. That was her ultimatum. He hadn’t given her an answer, so she left.

He never realized until now how much of a weight he put on her shoulders. He was only thinking of himself and what he wanted. His thoughts were interrupted when the sound of the piano began, and the newly married Mr. And Mrs. Fritz Howard started walking back down the aisle together, arm in arm, smiles on both their faces.

He processed out to the receiving line and shook Fritz’s hand. “Congratulations Agent Howard, you are one lucky man.” Pope said as nicely as he could manage given the circumstances.

“Thank you, Will. I know”, Fritz responded with a smile.

When it came time to speak with Brenda, he had no idea what to say to her.

“Thank you for coming, Will”, Brenda said as she kissed him on the cheek.

All he could do at that moment was nod and smile before walking away so the others could congratulate the new couple. Afterward, went to his car and headed to the hotel for the reception. Again, he didn’t know why he chose to go, but found himself driving there before he even thought about where he was going.

As he drove to the reception, all he could think about was what he had left. Nothing, he thought to himself. Nothing but my kids and my job.

He was divorced and lonely. He had wanted to meet someone and possibly begin a relationship, but it seemed impossible. He was too hung up on her. So now, he was hoping for a change. Hoping that he could find someone that could fill the void in his heart left by her.

Yeah maybe I might've changed

It's hard for me to say,

But the story's still the same, And it's a sad one,

And I'll always believe, If she ever did cry for me,

They were tears that you can't see, You know the bad ones

And now I, can see why

When he arrived, he found his table and sat down amongst the rest of the squad. Despite the pain he was fe eling, he put on a smile and made small talk with everyone.

Brenda and her father started dancing to the song “I Loved Her First” by Heartland, and he saw them both start to cry. He, too, felt like he wanted to cry, but there was no way he could do it in front of everyone.

After their dance was completed, it was now time for Brenda and Fritz to have their first official dance as husband and wife. Pope plastered a fake smile on his face as they began dancing to “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” by Elvis. He just sat there while his heart continued to ache. The minutes seem to turn into hours, and by the time the dance was over, he breathed a sigh of relief.

When the night was finally over, Brenda had had her fair share of red wine, and Fritz had to carry her up to their room. Pope was forced to leave without even saying goodbye to her. One the drive home, he was thankful that the day was finally over. But at the same time, he was overcome by a sense of remorse that he would never again hold Brenda in his arms. Now it was Fritz’s turn to be the man that Brenda deserved.

Hey everyone a new episode of The Closer is on tonight at 9 on TNT!

The episode tonight is called Live Wire. Here's a little summary!

-Brenda tangles again with an LA news reporter when he manages to scoop the murder of a man wearing a hidden wire. Adding another twist to the case, the victim was investigating a drug ring which blurs the line of jurisdiction between Brenda's PHD and Fritz's FBI.

Hey everyone this is my first entry! So i decided to start off with a meme! So hopefull everyone will get to know me better!
BTW, this is going to be a Closer based journal, so I will post reviews, articles, and whatever else I can find about The Closer!

1. Which book would you like to jump into and why?

If I read a lot I would def. read the book Loverboy, since I love the movie that has Kyra in it, but I don't read often, so I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

2. What do you do before bedtime?

Post on TCF!, or watch TV.

3. Have you ever been a bridesmaid/groomsman? What was it like?

I was a flower girl in two weddings, and a bridesmaid in two. It was fun! Weddings are always fun!

4. What is the city of your dreams and why?

NYC, or Los Angeles!

Around my friends I am an extrovert, but in school, and around strangers I am an introvert.

Def. I'm a survivor by Reba McEntire, has nothing to do with my real life, its just been my favorite song for the past 2 years!
